My Purpose

Throughout human history countless amazingly talented people never admitted to themselves, nor were bold enough, nor brave enough to dig deep to uncover or release a talent. A hidden, or suppressed urge to create.

We all have our own story to tell. You may need to write yours. Or, create a wonderful adventure inspired by someone you've known your entire life, or met and knew briefly. You have your own view of life and what is valuable that others may benefit from if they only knew. The sad unknown, who will ever know if you never write?

You may see art in rocks, stacks of wood, piles of broken glass, or pieces of rusty, discarded metal. One person's trash is another person's treasure. Please allow me to quote one of George Carlin's lines, "You can nail two boards together that have never been nailed together, and some schmuck will buy it from you." Therefore, beauty and art are in the eyes of the beholder. But in the end, the most important "beholder" is the artist. Without the artist, there would be no art to behold.

Some Abstract compositions appear to be accidental spillages of multiple paint colors that were spread by a brush, palette knife, or some other instrument. Others might have been placed beneath an easel to protect the floor from dripping paint. One artist even tossed paints into the blast from a jet engine to spread color across an anchored canvas. You may be destined to discover a novel way to apply paint to any surface. The only way you won't is if you don't.

Sharing my creative endeavors is in large part to inspire those who have many artistic and creative abilities to apply their own talents and crafts in a positive form. If you have the desire, it might be for multiple purposes. Writing, painting, drawing, sculpting, dancing, creating and performing music generate tremendous satisfaction for its creators. The tragic, undiscovered talent that longs to be released from deep within you will forever be unrewarded if you never unleash the artist/creator residing in you.

You must never allow anyone, no matter who they are to prevent you from exploring positive, productive means to express your talent. Anyone worth your time will recognize and encourage the creative component of your personality to pursue your passion, even if only as a modest part-time hobby.

To paraphrase Mr. Spock, my favorite character from Star Trek, "Live long and create."
